From Pharaoh to Pharaoh, Egypt Election 2014 (Social Media Project), Rote Fabrik, Zurich, Switzerland.
Drawing on Wall
This project aimed to raise public awareness for the second presidential elections of Egypt in 2014. It focused on reminding the electors to choose carefully which candidate they vote for and that their votes should not lead to the same political regime as before the Revolution. I drew a queue of electors between the two sides of an ancient coffin of an Egyptian King; indicating that we may return to the same long-lasting regime yet with a new shape. Nasr took a photo of himself sitting under the mural and not participating in the election scene. The picture, which went viral on social media after it was published two days prior to the presidential elections, used as a silent protesting message. The comments of Facebook users under the photo became part of the exhibition.
